The grisly crime took place on the outskirts of Brazil. Rosana Candido, 27, thought her son was a hindrance to her relationship with her partner. She also said her son reminded her of her abusive father.

The woman and her partner also scrapped the skin off the boy's face. The incident took place in Brazil. Rosana Candido, 27, the boy's mother committed this heinous crime along and her partner Kacyla Pessoa, 28. The extreme nature of the crime has caused an uproar on the internet, calling for the harshest of punishments for the accused. Even the police were shaken by the nature of the crime.

It is not known what exactly triggered the crime but it seems that Candido had a deep resentment for her son that seemed to have been harboring the same for years.

Another reason Cândido stated for killing her son was that she considered him as a disturbance to her relationships with her partner. She told investigators that he was a 'burden' and a hindrance to the relationship. She also said she felt "felt hatred and no love" for the child. Police chief Guilherme Melo said that hardened investigators were shocked by the crime. "She killed her son, quartered, decapitated, plucked the skin and tried to get rid of the body. It was a very terrible case," he said.

According to local reports, Candido ran away with Rhuan and started staying with Pessoa. Candido's husband lives in Acre in Peru and their marriage had been estranged. Soon after, he lost custody of his son she ran away to Brazil. She lived with Pessoa and her 9-year-old daughter. Since Rhuan's killing, she has been placed in the care of another family member.

After the crime, the couple reportedly botched the attempt to hide the body. They tried burning the boy's body on a barbecue. They also stuffed some of the remains of the burnt body into a suitcase. The duo then proceeded to throw the remains into the sewer.




Some of the remains were kept inside two backpacks and hidden in the couple's home. On further investigation, the two confessed to their crimes and are now facing charges of homicide, torture, and concealing the corpse. For their brutal acts, the couple also told police that they also used "rudimentary tools" because Rhuan "wanted to become a girl." People were shocked at the heinous nature of the crime.
